The purpose of this assignment to help you gain an understanding of issues related to professional competency, role clarity, and the use and application of ethical codes in the work environment.

For this assignment, first read the following codes of ethics:

• Association for Applied Sport Psychology. (2007). Ethics code: AASP ethical principles and standards.

• American Psychological Association. (2003). Ethical principles of psychologists and code of conduct.

• American College of Sports Medicine.(2007). Code of ethics.

Based on your readings, answer the following questions:

• In reading the AASP, APA, or ACSM ethics codes, did anything that you read surprise you? If so, what content, terminology, or standards do you call into question?

• Which code do you think is best and most applicable when providing applied sport psychology services? Why?

• Is there an area of the AASP, APA, or ACSM ethics codes that you deem more important than other areas, given the context of the sporting environment? If so, explain why.

Write a 200-300-word response and submit it to the Discussion Area by the due date assigned.

Through the end of the module, review and comment on at least two responses submitted by your classmates. In your comment, address the central issues raised by each classmate. Be supportive of your classmate; however, also present alternative arguments. All written assignments and responses should follow APA rules for attributing sources.
