Analyzing a Company's Social Media Presence:

Chosen Company: Target

This course project allows you to demonstrate your mastery of communication techniques as well as critical, ethical, and analytic thinking as you examine the social media presence of a company of your choosing. Your research-based 8-10-page analysis will include all the elements of a professional analysis that support a preliminary report suitable for presentation to company leadership.

Expectations

To successfully complete this project, you will be expected to:

• Inventory a company's current use of social media.
• Perform a SWOT analysis.
• Consider ethical questions related to social media practices at the company.
• Support your analysis with persuasive evidence, properly cited with APA in-text citations.
• Summarize your main points with suggested next steps the organization should consider.
• Write professionally and in a manner consistent with expectations for members of the business professions.

 Project Objectives

To successfully complete this project, you will be expected to:

• Assess a company's current use of social media.
• Conduct appropriate research to create and support assertions.
• Analyze the implications of social media for the future of a business, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
• Effectively communicate business concepts and ideas.
• Assess business situations using an ethical framework.

Project Requirements

To achieve a successful project experience and outcome, you are expected to meet the following requirements.

Analysis Paper

Your analysis paper must contain the following sections:

• Executive Summary or Abstract.
• Introduction.
• Social Media Audit and Comparison.
• SWOT Analysis.
• Ethical Assessment.
• Conclusion (including next steps or highlighted takeaways).

Other Requirements

• APA formatting: In-text citations and references are formatted according to current APA style and formatting.
• Number of resources: Include a minimum of five resources.
• Length of paper: Write 8-10 typed, double-spaced pages (not including cover page, table of contents, abstract, or references).
• Font and font size: Use Times Roman, 12-point font.
