Chapter 9 of our textbook deals with implementing the strategy to accomplish a firm's Mission and achieve its Strategic Goals. One of the important factors for success is its organizational structure and reward system that supports its strategy and goals. Nucor Steel has successfully maintained a very profitable and growing steel company even though the industry is very competitive and offers little potential for profitability. Their strategy has been the broad low-cost provider of a variety of steel products.
