Question 1: A private company has developed a vaccine, Co23, that is 99.7 effective against the Coronavirus. Its production costs are only 1.5 dollars per vaccine. However, the CEO of the company knows that people will be willing to pay more money, given the actual crisis. She knows that if she sells Co23 for 50 dollars per vaccine, most people in the economically developed countries will be able to pay for it, and governments will be able to supply the vaccine. However, she also knows that some of the poorest countries will not be able to provide Co23 to the entire population. If the CEO sells the vaccine for less than 40 dollars, the company will be losing billions of dollars in revenue. This money could be used to develop drugs against other types of diseases.
