We did an analysis of bleach and made a standardized stock solution in the first part of experiment of 0.1M Na2S2O3  which we filled our burette with.  Then we added KI and H2SO4 the flask for titration. The question is the following:

Sodium thiosulphate (Na2S2O3)

  • Provide the complete and balanced equation for this reaction.

I wrote out the equation as best I could and broke it down into ions. 

KIO3 (aq) + Na2S2O3 (aq) + H2SO4(aq) --------------> Na2S4O6- + Na2SO4 + KI + H2O

I broke the products down into their ions:

Na+  +  S4O6  2- + SO4 2- + K+  + I- + H2O
