We would follow the PDCA model. PLAN- We, the 3 Ahima's, plan to educate adolescent patients about their rights with their medical records and assure security and confidentiality. Gather a team of internal customers that work with adolescents and their medical records. Our team would include doctors, nurses, admin staff, HIM staff, and other healthcare professionals Follow policies and procedures in all aspects Do: Take the results of the survey and create changes throughout the internal customers so that the external customers are satisfied. This can be started on a small scale to ensure it is the correct plan of action before jumping into new changes all the way. CHECK- Conduct a survey for our external customers, specifically the adolescent patients and parents/guardians. Review surveys and quality analysis of their medical records. ACT- HIM staff to perform quality checks, audit files, and ensure compliance. Provide pamphlets to the public informing them about their medical records and provide an assistant to help patients understand.
