This report and visual analysis are expected to be used by Scott for strategic decision-making. Note that a report header identifies the report, a page header contains column headings, a group footer contains subtotals for each store, a report footer contains grand totals, and a page footer identifies the page number. Justify and describe these designs/reports for the non-technical board members.
The Case Study -24/7 "Beat Music System"
In 2014, Scott opened a music store named "iHeartDVD" to sell variety of music DVDs in Brisbane. There were two staff members in the store helping Scott to serve customers. Allan is the accounting staff, who acts as a bookkeeper, coming in at the end of each month to record purchases, sales, receipts, and payments in ledgers. iHeartDVD was using a legacy system for processing orders. There is no option for customers to purchase any DVD online.
Scott's business flourished till 2019 and afterwards, he identified a big reduction in on-store customers. After conducting a thorough research, Scott decided to open a music streaming platform and online music store. Scott named the platform as 24/7 "Beat Music System" serving up a full spectrum of listenable entertainment and he decided a strategic investment in this emerging new digital economy for national and international customers. The platform will stream digital music albums, film songs, concerts, live music events and music-based podcasts. Any customer could access the BMS application through a website link. Scott's plan was to offer downloading music without digital rights management. There are options for registered customers to download various music. Downloading is not free. Customers can purchase more than one song or attend the live event/concert by paying fees. He would like to integrate an online live shopping cart helping customers to purchase more than one song using the PayPal payment gateway. After the system is live, Scott is expecting a billion monthly downloaders. Scott also expects that the online application can help to automate several processes of iHeartDVD and improve the business. It is also critical for Scott to make sure that no key issues are overlooked, and that the system can set up the benchmark for the future of the music industry. Scott is expecting high level management decision making analysis and various reports.
On the basis of exceptional credentials, you were hired as a consultant by Scott for designing and implementing Scott's novel digital music downloading system "Beat Music System" (BMS).
