As we all know, in photoelectric effect, the photoelectrons will ''come out'' to form photocurrent. The electron will get more energy from photons. So, it means electrons can absorb different photon with different frequency,or not? If this is right, after the electron get more energy from photon,why is it just change its energy level states from low energy states to high energy states instead they ''come out of'' the metal?
