A rotor is being designed for a wind turbine. The rotor will have a diameter of D = 70 m. A single airfoil will be used for the length of the blades. The airfoil has its minimum drag to lift ratio when the lift coefficient is 1.0. Two options are being considered for the wind turbine. The first is an optimum rotor (including wake rotation) with two blades. Its design tip speed ratio is 10. The other is an optimum rotor with three blades. Its design tip speed ratio is 7. Find chord of the blade for each rotor in steps of 0.05R, beginning at 0.1R. Find the solidity of each rotor.
