Since September 2015, Volkswagen (VW) has been thrown into crisis following reports that they had deliberately deceivedthe public on the levels of toxic gases its cars emit. This is likely to have a significant impact on VW in terms its market share, expected profits and internal management.

In your presentation:

2. If you were appointed VW's new CEO, what leadership and management approaches would you embrace in order to ensure that employees remain committed and motivated?
3. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of VW's current organisational structure.
4. What recommendations would you propose to help ensure that VW avoids similar problems in future?

1. The report structure must include:

• Executive summary:This is very brief statementthat summarises the whole report. This summary should identifying main issues or problems addressed within the report, and serve to rapidly acquaint a reader who has not read it of the analysis and conclusions of the report.

• Introduction:An introduction provides an orientation to the reader. It is therefore advised that your introduction should guide the reader as to the structure of your writing i.e. say what you are going to do, how you develop your analysis, and in what order you do this.

• Body Paragraphs:This section of the report can include background information relevant to your analysis and findings e.g. a presentation how you have chosen to focus your analysis of the case study. It is important to remember that your research analysis and findings need tobe developed through a coherent argument using your own words. Moreover, it is vital to keep in mind that it is required that you develop your arguments drawing on academic sources such as relevant theories and management models. You may also find it helpful to draw on suitable examples in developing your arguments.

• Conclusion:It is often helpful to summarise the argument that you have made in the body of the report, and use this to present your evaluation; because this evaluation should flow from the argument developed in the body of your text. If you find yourself writing new arguments in your conclusion, you may want to consider whether what you are writing should be in the body of your report.
