A calcium supplement is being analyzed for Calcium by gravimetric analysis. The initial mass of the tablet used was 0.5068g. The sample was dissolved and the calcium was precipitated by oxalate as CaC2O4*H2O. The mass of the calcium oxalate after being left to dry was 1.6203g. The product was thermally decomposed to calcium oxide during drying for final massing. The mass of final product after drying and decomp was 0.5591g.
What is the gravimetric factor for this analysis and percent mass calcium? Show work and conversions, please.
