Tap switches

There are elements for connecting the various taps on the primary winding of the transformer to the power supply line. The switches are usually of the rotary dead front type and are arranged for flash mounting in opening in the machine frame or directly on the transformer. On very large transformers, spring contact switches are inadequate and bolted bar jumpers, are used. All the resistance welding transformers are of load tap changing type only.
