project, Mechanical Engineering
project on solid work 2012
The Final Project is to design a mechanical assembly in Solidworks. The design must consist of a minimum of 60 parts, 30 of which must be unique. A unique part is unlike any other part in the assembly. A Bottom-Up, Top-Down, or combination of assembly approaches may be used.
The assembly must be realistic, or have some form of reference to gauge the design against (A Star Wars space ship has been submitted in the past, which is acceptable).
A formal, professional report will be compiled and submitted from the documents of the design. The following documents should be included in the report in the order in which they are listed:
• Cover page
• Table of contents
• Written explanation of the assembly, tools/features used to complete the design, problems
encountered during the design process, and lessons learned
• Isometric View of the completed assembly in “Shaded with Edges” display style
• Isometric Exploded View of the completed assembly in “Shaded with Edges” display style
• Fully detailed engineering drawing of each unique part in the assembly
The grading for the Final Project will be as follows:
Project Format 5pts Cover Page 5pts Table of Contents 5pts Explanation 5pts Isometric View 5pts Isometric Exploded View 5pts
