Explain the cross sectional area of flow, Civil Engineering

Assignment Help:

Cross-sectional area of flow (ft2)

(A) For rectangular channels = (w)(d). For trapezoidal channels, divide the flow area into two side triangles and one center rectangle, solve each area, then sum the areas. For circular channels and pipes flowing full = the area of a circle = 0.7854D2 = Π/4 D2.
