Explain Principle of Design of Jig and Fixture

While designing jigs and fixtures following considerations should kept in mind:

  1. Reduction of idle time.
  2. Rigidity should be in materials.
  3. There is always clearance between jig and fixtures.
  4. Clearance should be swarf.
  5. Locating and supporting surfaces should be wherever possible be removable.
  6. Easy loading and unloading.
  7. Clamping should always be arranged directly above the points supporting the work.
  8. There are always provisions for the safety of designs.
  9. Components should be ejected.
  10. Jig bushes can be replaced whenever it worn out due to flowing out chips.
