Demonstrate the typical ultrasonic flaw detector in its reflection modes?

A typical ultrasonic flaw detector into its reflection modes is as demonstrated below:

Assume that d be the distance of flaw by the transducer; and ‘v’ be the velocity of sound into the test specimen as well as t be the time of flight. In that case the total distance travelled by the sound into the specimen

v = (2d)/t or d = (vt)/2

The given diagram shows such echo pattern indicating the presence of a defect.
