Define the olfactory area of the Cerebrum

The olfactory area lies deep within the temporal lobe. Look at Figurefor its position. Cells receive and interpret impulses from nose which come through olfactory nerves. The taste area is above lateral sulcus, in deep layers of the sensory area.
