Q. Define Print Resolution of printers?
Print Resolution is the detail which a printer can give considered by how many dots a printer can put in each inch of paper. So the unit of resolution is Dots per inch. This is appropriate to both non-impact and impact printer though actual quality will rely on technology of the printer.
Required resolution to a great extent considers the quality of output and time taken to print it. There is a trade-off amidtime andquality. Lower resolution determines faster printing and low quality. High resolution determines slower printing of a higher quality. There are 3 readymade resolution modes: draft, near letter quality (NLQ) and letter quality. Draft provides lower resolution print and letter quality higher resolution. In Laser and Inkjet Printers the highest mode is frequentlyknown as 'best' quality print.
