Define Abbe Condenser of Microscope?

It is present beneath the stage, as shown in Figure. It collects and focuses a cone of light on the slide. Its position can be adjusted vertically to regulate the light passing on to the specimen.

It also has iris diaphragm, a shutter that is also used to adjust the amount of light entering into the lens system.
