De-centralized management model, Management Theories

Solution-if I am the owner of the three coffee shops within a 50 mile radius, then I would adopt a de-centralized management model having self directed teams. This will help me in division of authority and each individual coffee shop will be able to run its own business separately without requiring my presence. A participative approach adopted by me will help in getting the employees participation to a greater extent. Since my coffee shop is WI-FI, it will be favored by the office workers and college students who will be able to fulfill their web surfing needs while visiting the coffee shop. I will then appoint self directed work teams which will make the decentralization more effective and will help in creating a disciplined yet friendly atmosphere. A decentralized model will also help me to reduce my stress level and relegate my responsibilities to the subordinating staff and managers. This will result in more effective management of the three coffee shops. The self directed teams will provide improved flexibility and increase productivity of operations. It will also help in lowering my operating cost and reducing my overall budget. The self directed teams will also be more suited for an advanced technological environment like WI-FI and will have a faster responding rate for such environment. I will assign the self directed work teams categorized job responsibilities which will be fewer and will make the job simpler. The management appointed by me would be able to give better response to employee's values. More attention paid to the employees will result in increased employee commitment towards the organization. Such environment will be liked by more professionals I will be able to get the best talent and retain the best professionals in the business for a longer period of time. The decentralized model of management will give me the much needed extra time which will help me to concentrate more on other necessary tasks of the business and individual life. I will be able to give my employees more empowerment which will provide them with that extra motivation which provide my coffee shops the necessary competitive edge required. They will be able to respond faster to the challenges and changing environment and will feel more responsible and hence more attached to the organization.
