Applications

Research in computer graphics has a wide range of application as well as both photorealistic and non-photorealistic image synthesis, image-based rendering and modeling and the other multi-resolution methods, curve and surface design, range scanning, surface modeling and reconstruction, motion capture, physics-based modeling, motion editing, animation, interactive 3-D user interfaces, colour reproduction and image editing. Work is around in different fields although computer vision is a hot topic, where research tackles the common problem of estimating properties of an object or scene by the processing of images, both 2-D photographs and 3-D range maps. Inside this wide scope, we examine efficient ways to manipulate, model, capture, retrieve, and visualize real-world objects and surroundings.

Once you acquire into computer graphics, you will hear about each kinds of applications which do all kinds of things. This section conversation not only the applications but also the software appropriate for that category of application, consequently it is essential to give you an understanding of what different applications do. Whereas working on a project, you may require images, a newsletter, brochures, a PowerPoint presentation, poster, DVD and so on. Hence, the question arises what software I require to get my job done. The section will assist to straighten all of which out in your head. Confidently, if you know what does what, you won't waste money duplicating buys and while other designers or co-workers are conversation shop, you will know what is going on.

Graphic design applications are mainly broken down upon the origin of some considerations. The first two considerations are, "Is your project for print, or web". While I say web, what I actually mean is monitor based publishing. It means that you are going to notice your work on a computer screen and television or a big screen projector. Consequently, as you read in this section, when we say "web based", we mean monitor based. Beyond print and web, at this time are the different categories which we can think of that different applications would fit in; Vector Graphics; Image Manipulation; Page Layout; Web site development; Video Editing; Presentation Software; DVD Production; Animation and Interactivity and so on. If you are creating or learning to generate graphic design, computer art or maybe "Digital Media" is the term which we should utilize then it's a good thing to know the function of all application. There are several applications in the market and most of them are expensive. Some of the different application areas which are affected by Computer graphics are:

  • Painting and Drawing
  • Presentation Graphics
  • Scientific Visualization
  • Photo Editing
  • Image Processing
  • Education, Training, Entertainment and CAD
  • Animation and Games
  • Simulations

Now we discuss these fields one by one.
