METHODOLOGY

Methodology section is one part of a project/research paper. This part is the core of your paper as it is a proof that you have used a scientific method. Through this section, your study's validity is judged. So, it is very important.
Your methodology answers two main questions:

i. How did you collect or generate the data?

ii. How did you analyze the data?

While writing this section, be direct and precise. Write it in the past tense. Include enough information so that others could repeat your methodology (e.g. experiment) and evaluate whether the results are reproducible. The audience can judge whether the results and conclusions are valid. The explanation of the collection and the analysis of your data is very important because;

i. readers need to know the reasons why you chose a particular method or procedure instead of others.

ii. readers need to know that the collection or the generation of the data is valid in the field of study

Therefore, in general, project/research methodology part may have the following sections:

Data Collection

Data analysis

RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS

The purpose of a results section is to present and illustrate your findings. Make this section a completely objective report of the results, and save all interpretations for the discussion. One important way to present numerical results is to show them in graphs. Tables are also used.

The purpose of the discussion section is to provide an interpretation of your results (comparing and contrasting with results and conclusions of previous studies) and support for all of your conclusions - using evidence from your calculations and lab results, literature review and generally accepted knowledge (note: in-text citation of your sources is important). The significance of findings should be clearly described. In discussing the results, you should not only analyze the results, but also discuss the implications of those results. Moreover, pay attention to the errors that existed in the experiment, both where they originated and what their significance is for interpreting the reliability of conclusions.

In a nutshell, in the Discussion section, you discuss your results by:

- commenting on the results obtained
- interpreting what the results mean, and
- explaining any results which are unexpected.

You present the measurements made in the experiment and you then compare your measurements to the calculations you made in your preliminary work or the published theoretical values.

CONCLUSION

In academic writing, a well-crafted conclusion can provide the final word on the value of your analysis, project, research, or paper. Complete your conclusions with conviction! Consider the conclusion from the reader's perspective. At the end of a paper, a reader wants to know how to benefit from the work you accomplished in your paper. The "Conclusion" section discusses the results in the context of the entire experiment. Usually, the objectives mentioned are examined to determine whether the experiment succeeded. If the objectives were not met, you should analyze why the results were not as predicted. Include the following in your conclusion.

- How do the ideas in your report connect to what we have discussed in classes, or to what scholars have written in their treatment of your topic?
- What new ideas have you added to the conversation? What ideas do you critique?
- What are the limitations of your data, methods, or results?
- What are the consequences of the strongest idea that comes out of your report?
