In Luria and Delbrucks classic fluctuation tests, they infected bactia with lytic viruses. Then they found the number of resistant bacteria varied greatly from culture to culture, suggesting that these mutants appeared spntaneously. If luria and delbruck had used lysogenic viruses instead of lytic viruses, how would their results have changed?
