To monitor ecological health of the Florida Everglades, different measurements are recorded at different times.  Bottom temperatures are recorded at Garfield Bight station and mean of 30.4ºC is obtained for 61 temperatures recorded on 61 different days.  Suppose that s = 1.7ºC, test claim that population mean is greater than 30.0ºC.  Use 0.05 significance level.  (Use classical approach )

d) 4.10

ii) What is the reason for post tests?

a) To find out how much difference exists between treatments.
b) To find out whether or not a Type I error was committed.
c) To find out which treatments are significantly different.
d) None of these choices are right.

iii) It is impossible to get a negative value for an F-ratio.

a) True

b) False

iv) Analysis of variance permits researchers to compare many different treatment conditions without conducting several different hypothesis tests.
