You should be familiar with the process of working with human subjects and the importance of gaining informed consent when conducting primary research. Throughout history there have been many cases where research was not conducted ethically, resulting in serious consequences. One of the most famous examples of unethical researcher conduct is the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment. Watch this short video “Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment Exposed” to learn about the experiment. Next, conduct an internet search to find and read about another example of unethical researcher conduct. Write a summary of the case your find explaining what happened and why it was unethical (150 words). At the end of your summary provide a web link so your instructor and classmates can read more about the case you selected.
