Assignment: The Seven Themes
These themes are the foundation on which the course is built. In this assignment, you will take a comprehensive review of every chapter in the textbook as well the work you completed in Learning Plans 1 - 10. The skills and concepts highlighted in this course are critical to professional success and achievement as well as personal happiness. This assignment will ask you to summarize what you have learned about yourself and to construct an analysis of your strengths and weaknesses of the characteristics which are associated with human relations.
Each theme has unique qualities which define it; however, there is also significant overlap from one theme to another. Because they are interrelated, you will find that improving your skills in one area will naturally impact your skills in another area. For example, if you found that your communication skills improved as an outcome of taking this course, you may have noticed that this impacted your self-disclosure skill or perhaps your conflict resolution skills.
The Major Themes of Human Relations:
- Communication.
- Self-Awareness:
- Self-Acceptance:
- Motivation:
- Trust:
- Self-Disclosure:
- Conflict Resolution:
Although several chapters are not specified as connected to a specific theme, you will find as you review the book and the work you've completed throughout the course that there are multiple themes tied to each chapter.
For this assignment you will create an self-assessment of your skills and abilities in each of the seven themes. In a Word document, label each section of your paper with one of the themes and write a 250 - 300 word description of where you see yourself, what you learned, and how you've changed since taking this course. If you quote or reference sources besides your textbook, be sure to cite them. Go to the NAU Online Library to APA guidelines.
