Thermodynamics and Thermostatic

Some thermodynamicists are not happy about calling their field of work as thermodynamics, though would desire to call it “thermostatic”. This is since, though it does deal with systems in action, it does not deal with the rates at which procedures, energy exchanges, and so on. Take place, or the mechanisms of changes in properties; such are the concern of transport phenomenon and chemical kinetics.
