Rotor

The purpose of the rotor is to gives the rotating component within a DC machine (refer to Figure). Within a DC generator, the rotor is the component which is rotated through an external force.   Inside a DC motor,  the  rotor  is  the  component  which  turns  a  piece  of  equipment. Within both categories of DC machines, the rotor is the armature.
