Maintenance Strategies

Maintenance is one of the crucial areas that govern the organisation. With the advancement and rapid growth in technology the adoption of this technology is also increasing at very fast rate in industries. Consequentially, the maintenance of such production machinery is also getting more and more important and significant. Yet, in most of the industries in India, owing to various reasons, the capacity utilisation is less than 60%. Thus to keep the machines in a state of maximum efficiency with economy a correct policy of maintenance is to be chosen.

Various methods/policies of maintenance are discussed in this unit from which an organisation may select one or more to suit its requirements.
