Later on you will be describe to various other categories of structures and will learn how to search the forces induced in the members because of the forces applied on the structure. Like analysis forms the essence of Structural Analysis. Our concern in Strength of Material is what happens to the individual members, while they have to carry these forces. As you advance in your learning of simple stresses and strains you will realize in which the two subjects are closely interrelated and together they form the foundation for the design of a huge variety of structures. Here, you will be introduced to the analysis of easy stresses and strains induced in members.
