The Baylis-Hillman is an organic reaction between an aldehyde and an α,β-unsaturated electron-withdrawing group catalyzed with DABCO (1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane) to produce an allylic alcohol. This reaction is also called as Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction or MBH reaction. The Baylis-Hillman reaction, in the present day edition, is atom-economic carbon-carbon bond formation reaction.
