Why have companies gone ecommerce, Computer Engineering

Assignment Help:

One of these objectives is related to costs. By going e-commerce, consumers will be able to submit their purchase requests to the sellers without paying a visit to their place. This indeed will save time and surely will minimize the paper work required to complete the deal with the consumers.

Also, companies can use their websites to market their current and new products. This obviously will decrease the marketing costs which eventually will lead to lower the product's costs. E-commerce has strongly indicated to make managements start rethinking about hiring new staff in the sales department; observing and seeing that e-commerce has unleashed new areas where they can compete with other companies in the same market segment. This takes us to another objective which is the competitive advantage among companies in one market segment.

As stated above, e-commerce leads to have low costs which are an essential factor in gaining high profits. By achieving this goal any competitive company will have an edge in leading the market since low costs offer a high potential in lowering the prices. Since markets are massively growing and going global, companies should expect not only local competitors to assault but also overseas multi-national companies. These companies see a high potential in reaching the consumers in different regions to increase sales and eventually profits. These companies believe this cannot be implemented without maintaining costs which means finding a proper way to maximize sales without hiring a lot of employees. Instead of creating new sales departments in multiple countries and employing a high number of employees, e-commerce happens to be the solution and also the method to make this happen. E-commerce has become hugely appreciated by consumers due to the easiness of the purchase process. As mentioned, consumers will no longer need to visit the show rooms and stores, fill in documents, paying cash and finally receive the sold product. These can be saved by going online and fill in the required information and finally submit it in a few minutes. E-commerce by providing a supply of information and wide access to business information has increased the competitiveness of manufacturers in one hand and the other power of consumer choice.
