Why does the sky appear blue in colour, Physics

Assignment Help:

Q. Why does the sky appear blue in colour?

As-per to the Rayleigh's scattering law the shorter wavelengths are scattered much more than the longer wavelengths. The blue look of sky is due to scattering of sunlight by the atmosphere. Blue light is scattered to a bigger extent than red light.

This scattered radiation results the sky to appear blue.
