Q. What are the organs that form the human respiratory system?

The organs that are part of the human respiratory system can be divided into three groups: lungs, respiratory muscles and airway.

The lungs are the left and the right lungs made of alveoli where gas exchange (exit of carbon dioxide and entrance of oxygen) takes place the lungs are covered by the pleura a serious membrane. The airway comprehends the nose, the larynx, the pharynx (including the vocal cords), the trachea, the bronchi and the bronchioles. The muscles upon which the breathing process depends are mainly the intercostal and the diaphragm muscles (muscles between the ribs).
