What is use of co-processor in a typical microprocessor based system.
This is a processor that works in parallel with the major processor. This has its own set of specialized instructions. The no. crunching part of the program is executed through 8087. Instruction for 8087 are written in the important program interspersed with the 8086 instructions. Each 8087 instruction codes have 11011 like the most significant bits of their first code byte.
