What is the problem in Paving material distribution system

James H. Bassett found the problem in Paving material distribution system In particular, separation of the larger aggregate in an asphalt mix from smaller aggregate or "fines" commonly occurred during transfer of the mix from a receiving station. This separation at transfer point commonly occurs because of the tendency of the larger aggregate to as roll down an inclined formed by the angle of repose of the asphalt mix. The outer edge of receiving station then receives more cores aggregate than the inner portion of the receiving station
