What is the objective of the total productive maintenance?

Total productive maintenance (TPM) aims to shorten lead times by making sure production and machine maintenance staff work closer mutually. Machine operators are trained and empowered in order to speed up routine servicing, maintenance of operating machinery and fault diagnosis.
