What is the extension of screw conveyer, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

"Extension of screw conveyer by using spline shaft, U-joint with the help of hydraulic cylinder"

For fully automatic extension of screw conveyer according to screed width we have to go for some design changes,

At the end of main auger shaft outer spline is providing and inner spline is providing at end piece cover of extra auger. Both parts one is end of main shaft and end piece of extra auger is attach by universal joint. And whole assembly is fixed by providing one key.

During the fully extension of screed the both parts are joined with each other and power is to be equally transmitted. But, when the screed is at without extension we have to remove key and main shaft is free from extra auger shaft so, power transmission is stopped by means of lever mechanism. The whole assembly is supported by L-support and disc plate which is attached to the chassis of the paver machine. When main shaft is free from extra auger at that time balancing problem is occurred and which can eliminate by hydraulic piston cylinder operation.
