What is the difference between Internet and Intranet ?

Intranet and internet are 2 domains which are extremely a like but frequent segregated in order to manage security. Internet is where I am having exam now it gives access to the rest of digital world e.g:- World Wide Web .Intranet is a little versa of this used through companies and is generally local, e.g:- only the people who work those have access to the information being shared on its server. There is one main destination between an intranet and the internet the internet is an open, public places although intranet is in only in private places.
