What is the difference between a lens and a mirror?
A mirror is a reflective surface. Light passes by the glass and hits the silver backing, reflecting off of it. (The angle of reflection equals the angle of incidence.)
A lens, on the other hand, does not reflect light; it refracts it. After entering the glass, light refracts in a different way depending on the shape of the lens and also makes a focal point where the refracting light comes to a point. This varies for different lenses -- convex or concave -- which is why there are dissimilar lenses for different types of eyeglasses.
Part A) Infra-Red (IR) Detectors: An IR detector has an impedance of Z= (400+j200) ? . . During design tests the detector current is measured as 4 µA. What is
A basketball player spins a basketball with a radius of 15 cm on his finger. The mass of the ball is 0.75 kg. What is the moment of inertia about the basketball?
The turning movement of a particle about the axis of rotation is called the angular momentum of the particle and is measured as the product of the linear momentum and the perpendic
A body moves along x-axis with velocity v at position x. If the plot v-x is an ellipse with major axis 2A and minor axis 2u, what is the modulus of maximum acceleration?
Will a DC motor actually produce voltage if it is spun in reverse? It'll make voltage if you spin it forwards, too. The only difference among a DC motor and a DC generator is w
A physics student performs a double-slit diffraction experiment on an optical bench, as shown in the figure below. The light from a helium-neon laser has a wavelength of 632.8
what is significance of kirchoff''s law?
Inertial Frame of Reference : If in a given system a free object does not experience any acceleration or force, the system is called the inertial frame. Any reference frame that mo
(1) The first practical application for piezoelectric devices was sonar, first developed during worldwar1. Piezoelectric materials are as a source of ultrasonic waves. At sea, they
Capacitors: When a voltage is applied to a capacitive circuit there is a change in the electric flux. The ease with which this change takes place is a measure of the capacitan
