What is the difference among systole and diastole

Systole and diastole are the two stages into which the cardiac cycle is separated. Systole is the stage when the contraction of ventricular muscle fibers occurs and the ventricles are emptied. Diastole is the part of the cardiac cycle when the ventricular muscle fibers distend and the ventricles are filled with blood.
