What is Panoramic X-Ray

This is one of the most vital radiological techniques in planning placement of dental implants. Not only will it give you the complete picture of the periodontium but also help you locate vital structures like the location of the inferior alveolar canal in the mandible, floor of the maxillary sinus, assessing the available space between adjacent tooth roots, especially in the anterior aspects of the  jaws, the mental foramen and its relative location to the adjacent teeth. Determining theposition of the surface of the alveolar ridge in edentulous spaces compared with the height of the alveolar crest around adjacent natural teeth.
