What is Matrix Organisation?

Matrix Organisation:

This organization is used while an organization has to handle several of projects, ranging through small to huge. While a pure project structure is superimposed onto a useful structure, the outcome is a matrix structure. Project structure gives a horizontal lateral dimension to the traditional vertical orientation of functional organization structure like spcified in the given diagram.
