What is band emission spectrum, Physics

Assignment Help:

Q. What is band emission spectrum? Give an example.

It consists of a numerous bright bands with a sharp edge at one end but fading out at the other end. Band spectra are acquired from molecules. It is the quality of the molecule.

Instance Calcium or Barium salts in a Bunsen flame and gases like carbon dioxide, ammonia as well as nitrogen in molecular state in the discharge tube give band spectra.
