What is an optical port?
In the fiber optics industry, optical port is the component that physically produces the connection or interface in between the harness and the illuminator. In its simplest form, and this port is made of female and male tubes fitting one in the other with a retaining screw or other fastener. Additionally sophisticated optical ports include filter holders and different devices to adjust, cool and conformation the common end.
