Assignment Help:

What is an I/O subsystem?

The control of devices connected to the computer is a main issue while designing operating systems. Since I/O devices differ widely in their function and speed, different methods are needed to control them and these methods form the I/O subsystem of the kernel which separates the rest of the kernel from the managing I/O devices.
