What are venous vessels, veins and venules?

Venous vessels are each blood vessel that carries blood from the tissues to the heart. Veins and venules are venous vessels. Venules are thin veins that are continuous to capillaries.

In general venous vessels carry venous blood. The pulmonary veins that carry blood from the lungs to the left atrium of the heart though contain arterial blood.
