(i) It is utilized in the industry to study the surface of metals, structure of textile fibres, composition of paints etc.

(ii) In medicine as well as biology it is used to study virus, and bacteria.

(iii) In Physics it has been utilized in the investigation of atomic structure and structure of crystals in detail.
