What are IP addresses?

IP address refers to the name of a computer on a network, like the Internet.

  • An Identifier for a computer or device on a TCP/IP network, like the Internet.
  • The format of an IP address is a 32-bit numeric address written as four numbers divided by periods. Every number can be zero to 255.
  • The IP addresses can be in dissimilar classes/categories.
