Web Application and Web Service

For this part of the assignment, you are to develop a web application and web service using technologies and techniques taught in this subject as per the guidelines below. The problem domain is to develop a system for managing a list of bibliography references.

As a minimum, the web interface should allow users to:

1. Enter a new bibliography reference;
2. Delete an existing bibliography entry from the list; and
3. List all bibliography entries currently stored.

Behind the scenes, the bibliography entries should be stored in XML. Each team can design their own XML format, but it should be able to store information on at least books and journal articles as a minimum. All members of the same team should use the same XML format. For a book, you need to store the author (or list of authors), book title, edition, publisher, place of publication and year of publication. You should also be able to store a URL and some comments. For a journal article you need to store the author (or list of authors), title of the article, title of the journal, volume number, issue number, page numbers and year of publication. You should also be able to store a URL and some comments. Not all bibliography entries will contain all of these elements (some may be omitted). In teams of three, each person in the team must take primary responsibility for one of the following features. In the end, the application should be able to be demonstrated with a uniform interface, i.e. all three aspects should be able to be tested through the same web interface. But for development purposes, different team members should be responsible for writing different code sections.
